The company has added 1,800 workers within the last year to ramp up production of F-35 fighter jets. It plans to hire at least 400 more technicians, mechanics and assemblers this week.
Lockheed interviewed more than 1,000 candidates for those positions at a job fair Monday in Fort Worth.
“A lot of people pre registered online and we had walk-ups too,” said Lockheed Martin Spokesperson, Heidi Fields. “We’re looking to issue about 400 to 500 letters of intent for employees to join the F-35 team.”
The company produced 66 f-35’s in 2017, and is expected to produce 91 this year. Anyone who missed the job fair can apply online at Lockheedmartinjobs.com.
