Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Atmos Energy says it plans to replace several miles worth of underground gas lines — this, after they spent weeks replacing lines underneath several thousand homes in northwest Dallas due to a series of gas leaks.
The company says it conducted research in areas outside of the original problem area, which was sandwiched between Walnut Hill, Marsh, Northwest Highway, and Midway.
According to the Dallas Morning News, throughout the rest of this year and next, they’ll be replacing pipes as far north as 635 and as far east as Inwood, which covers an area roughly the size of four White Rock Lakes.
Atmos says it’s working with local contractors to speed up the process.
