Texas Rangers Investigating a Shooting Involving 2 Texas Department of Public Safety Special Agent Officers

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The Texas Rangers are investigating a shooting on the 9800 block of Adleta Blvd involving two Texas Department of Public Safety Special Agent Officers.

Lonny Haschel with Texas Department of Public Safety said the officers were working on a case in their car when a male suspect in a white SUV pulled behind them and blocked them in. He said the suspect walked out of his car and approached them with a hand gun.

“The special agent officers, fearing for their life, pulled out their service weapons and struck him,” Haschel said.

Texas Rangers are investigating the suspects motive. Officials say the officers were not hurt but the suspect was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

They say two others that were in the SUV were taken in for questioning. They have recovered the hand gun as evidence to further the investigation.
