Hearty souls defy heat wave for baseball

Arlington (WBAP/KLIF) – The Texas Rangers played baseball in their open air stadium Sunday afternoon, right in the middle of a record breaking heat wave. It was 102 degrees when the game started at 2:00 PM. It was108 by the time they got to the 6th inning, so it’s probably no surprise paid attendance didn’t set any records. About 8,000 fans were there by the Rangers’ count. When it was over the Rangers had beaten the Cleveland Indians 5 – 0.
