DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – An irving man receives life in prison for killing his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend two years ago.
Prosecutors did not seek the death penalty for 22 year old Christopher Rubio, convicted of capital murder on Wednesday. Because prosecutors did not seek the death penalty, Rubio received an automatic term of life in prison.
In 2016, 19 year old Elizabeth Adams moved she and her two kids out of an apartment she shared, with the man that eventually ended up killing her. The Dallas Morning news reports Rubio tracked her down along with her current boyfriend 20 year old James Tews. The couple was hiding in the bathroom of her mother’s apartment in Irving, when Rubio shot through the door.
The two children were not in the apartment at the time of the murders.
