Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – The founder of the Cavender’s western wear chain has passed away. James Cavender passed Tuesday at the age of 87.
His retail chain was founded in 1965 and expanded to 70 stores in 11 states, to include Cavender’s Boot City in Texas.
Cavender was a member of First Baptist Church in Pittsburgh, Texas and served in the United States Air Force.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 1 at 3pm at his Pittsburgh Church.
