No Charges Against Woman Making False Trooper Assault Charges

  • The attorney for a metro area woman who made allegations about inappropriate sex contact by a state trooper has apologized, and no charges will be filed. Sherita Dixon Cole was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Officials say as she was being booked into the Ellis County jail, she told a detention officer the trooper made inappropriate contact. They say more alleged details followed in her conversations on the phone with a private citizen. Officials say she refused exam or treatment, and police video showed no inappropriate conduct, but Texas law also requires allegations be made to a peace officer, which was not done. Ellis County District Attorney Patrick Wilson says for that reason, no connected charges were filed against the woman making the allegations.
