DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – A sex education lesson taught to students at McClean Sixth Grade Center in Fort Worth has some parents asking the district for transparency.
A Watchdog group Stand For Fort Worth said before the school year, a detailed description of the lesson was sent to parents but it did not mention transgender topics. The group claims the notice indicated the lessons would cover the dangers of STD’s and sexual peer pressure. The organization is also claiming that some parents were told they could not see the textbook.
The group is now asking the school district to be more transparent. An online petition asking the school to remove the curriculum and be more open with parents has nearly 300 signatures.
