DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) — It has been six months since Christopher Collinvitti was killed in his Plano home garage and investigators are still looking for clues.

Collinvitti was shot multiple times. WFAA reports Plano Police Detective Aaron Benzick says the case is highly unusual and investigators can’t find a clear motive for Collinvitti’s murder.

Benzick is heading up the investigation. He says Collinvitti took a quick trip to the post office last November. When he returned home he parked in the garage and was shot multiple times as he got out of his car. Surveillance video from a neighbor caught a dark colored sedan leaving the scene. Police also say a number of people were seen running away.

Detective Benzick says there was no sign of robbery as a motive.

Collinvitti’s wife of 27 years, Cindy, was away from home visiting family when her husband was killed. She is still struggling to understand why someone would shoot him. She said they worked together, loved to travel and lived quiet lives in a safe neighborhood.

Crimestoppers is offering a $28,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of Collinvitti’s killers.

Benzick says there are people who know what happened and who was responsible for Collinvitti’s murder and why. He’s hoping they will come forward and call Plano police.
