DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The Dallas City Council spent part of Wednesday’s council meeting discussing several issues regarding confederate monuments in the city.
The Council deferred its vote on the removal of a confederate memorial from Pioneer Park near City Hall so it can be informed of all the options by the City Manager.
“I think it’s important that we do this the right way,” said Council Member Tennell Atkins.
The council also voted not sell the Robert E. Lee statue that was taken down last year at auction. It did not discuss further what to do with the statue. It remains in storage for now.
