The battle for campaign money is tightening

Austin (WBAP/KLIF) – U.S. Senator Ted Cruz reports his re-election campaign raised $3.2 million through the month of March. That’s less than half his Democratic opponent’s fundraising haul, and means Cruz now maintains only a small lead in the overall campaign money race. Cruz’s campaign war chest now totals nearly $8.2 million. U.S. Representative Beto O’Rourke, who is giving up his seat in El Paso to challenge Cruz, collected $6.7 million in donations through March. His campaign says its war chest is now worth more than $8 million.
