DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) Plano – The group “Our Plano, One Plano” plans to present their petition to recall councilman Tom Harrison this afternoon at city hall.
The group wants him to step down or face a recall election after he made a facebook post that said “Share if you think Trump should ban Islam in American schools.”
Last month the Plano city council voted 7 to 1 to censure Harrison. He deleted the post and apologized but says he will not step down.
Just under 2,800 signatures are needed to start a recall election and the city has five days to verify them when a petition is presented.
If the signatures check out, the council would then have to call a special election in November.
