Judge Dismisses “Clock Boy” Ahmed Mohammed Discrimination Lawsuit Again

IRVING (WBAP/KLIF News) – The lawsuit against the City of Irving, Irving School District and others that was filed by the father of Ahmed Mohamed, also known as “clock boy”, has been thrown out again.

The suit claimed that Mohamed’s civil rights were violated in September 2015 when he was arrested after bringing a homemade clock to MacArtuhur High School.

He was charged with making a hoax bomb and was suspended but the charges were eventually dropped.

His family questioned whether he was mistreated due to his religion and eventually left Irving for Qatar after reporting threats.

At the time of the incident, Mohammed’s story sparked national outcry and the hashtag “IStandWithAhmed” emerged on social media as a show of public support.

The initial lawsuit was filed in August 2016 and was dismissed by U.S. District Judge Sam Lindsey in May 2017. The family vowed to file an amended suit.

For the second time, Judge Lindsey ruled that the lawsuit be dismissed with prejudice and that all requests for relief be denied.
