Campbell, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – An area steel company is not happy about President Trump’s new imposed tariffs on imported steel and aluminum.
In Campbell, Texas, just outside of Rockwall, QMF Steel owners say the tariffs are already costing them millions.
Steve Lester, told WFAA-TV, Thursday, “I’m gonna cry when I go home, it’s been a rough day, it’s been hard.”
On the 25-percent tariff on imported steel and 10-percent tariff on imported aluminum, Lester says he thinks Trump has wonderful intentions, “It’s just not benefiting us.” The president made the moving saying it would boost US production.
Fears of a trade war have driven price up to almost double in some cases in the U.S., which means Lester will take a big hit for the next couple of years for projects alrealy in his pipeline.
