GRAND PRAIRIE (WBAP/KLIF) – Construction is finished on a road expansion from Grand Prairie to Irving.
The MacArthur Boulevard expansion project has been more than two years in the making. Now, the road is two lanes in either direction from I-30 to Hunter Ferrell Road. Grand Prairie Mayor Ron Jensen said Monday that the road will help with traffic after concerts at Verizon Theater.
“When Verizon sells out which it does quite often the road is how we get them out of Verizon,” said Jensen. “We can’t get them all out on Beltline.”
The $20 million expansion was a joint project with the City of Grand Prairie, City of Irving, and Dallas County.
