A Mesquite Church Employee Charged with Sexual Assault of a Child

MESQUITE- (WBAP/KLIF) – A Mesquite Church employee has been charged with Sexual Assault of a Child.

According to the the Mesquite Police Department, Officers received a report of a possible inappropriate relationship between a teenage girl and 65-year-old Larry Allen Winn of Dallas on February 27. The victim allegedly told Police that she was sexually assaulted three years ago when she was 16 years old. On March 1, Winn was arrested and charged with one count of Sexual Assault of a Child in Dallas County, with a bond of $25,000.

Winn is the Bus Director at the Open Door Baptist Church in Mesquite and the victim was a member of the church. Winn has been on staff at the church for several years. Steve Winn, a volunteer at the church is believed to be Larry Winn’s son and was arrested for Child Sexual Assault last month.

Due to Winn’s level of access to children, investigators believe there may be additional victims. Investigators encourage anyone with information on criminal offenses involving Larry Winn to contact the Mesquite Police Department.
