Dallas Police Officer Arrested and Charged With DWI

Irving (WBAP/KLIF) – A Dallas police officer is free on bond after Irving police arrested her and charged her with driving while intoxicated.  Irving police say they pulled Officer Elvia Mercado over around 8pm Saturday for driving erratically near Northgate and Tom Braniff.  Mercado has been with DPD since 2002 and works out of the North Central Division.  She is on administrative leave pending internal investigation.
