Amazon Announces Patent on Employee Wristbands

DALLAS (KLIF/WBAP) — Employees at Amazon fulfillment centers might soon have their movements tracked by a wristband.

The company announced last week they’ve submitted patents for two versions of a tracker that would be worn on an employee’s wrist.

They say the bands would replace handheld scanners that are used currently by workers, and would free up their hands for other tasks.

But privacy advocates say the bands would give Amazon too much information about their employees.

Dave, Amy and Producer Robyn talked about that possibility on The Morning Drive.
