(WBAP/KLIF) –  A 5-year-old boy who survived a Sutherland Springs church shooting is home from the hospital.

Ryland Ward was escorted home from San Antonio’s University Hospital by Police while riding on a fire truck driven by the first responder credited with rescuing the boy. Months after 26 people were shot and killed inside the small town Texas church, Ryland is back in his hometown. He was the last of the shooting’s survivors to be released from University Hospital.
