Methodist Dallas Medical Center is no longer at critical capacity and is receiving all patients coming in by ambulance. The facility though still anticipates lengthy wait times for patients going to the emergency room with flu-like symptoms.

Original Story:

Dallas, TX (WBAP/KLIF) Methodist Dallas Medical Center in South Dallas is “re-routing” some patients to other facilities to other facilities. This only involves patients that have non-emergency symptoms.

Methodist is at critical capacity and needs to take care of emergency patients such as trauma, stroke and sexual assault.

The hospital says in a statement, “We take this very seriously because we want to be able to treat anyone in need anytime.”

Other hospitals like Baylor in Dallas and JPS in Fort Worth say they’re also seeing an increase in flu cases — but as of now are not full and can accept patients.
