DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas County is already reporting a total of three flu-related deaths of the 2017-2018 season.
This comes just a week after the first flu-related death.
Both the second and third deaths were residents who were elderly. One was 73-years-old and the other was 80-years-old.
Because of privacy laws, no other details were released.
“Older adults, individuals with chronic health conditions, pregnant women, young children and infants are more vulnerable to flu illness,” said Dallas County health authority/medical director Dr. Christopher Perkins.
“These deaths are an unfortunate reminder that the flu virus is circulating in Dallas County, and does have the potential to cause severe illness and death,” said Dallas County Health Director Zachary Thompson.
