DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) — A Texas man shot and killed a would-be robber in a San Antonio Popeye’s restaurant Wednesday.
WOAI-TV reports Carlos Molina, 32, was having dinner with his wife and children at the fast food restaurant when they were confronted by Andres Herrera, 19. Molina says he told the man that he didn’t have any money after spending it on food for his family. He says Herrera told him they could leave but after his wife and two children left Herrera pulled a gun on two of Molina’s other children walking out of the bathroom and at the store’s manager behind the counter. That’s when Molina took out his legally-owned handgun and shot Herrera several times.
Police are still investigating the scene but say Molina was within his legal rights to shoot the assailant in defense of himself and others.
