Longtime Reporter to Leave Television for Politics

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – WFAA-TV says one of its long time reporters is seeking a career in politics.

According to the television station, investigative reporter Brett Shipp has resigned and will run for the U.S. Congress
Shipp, as a Democrat, is expected to announce that he will run for Republican Pete Sessions’ seat in the 32nd district of Texas. He’ll compete against other democrats in the primary.

Shipp worked for WFAA for more than 20 years.
