Dallas County Advocacy Center Hosting Toy Drive for Abused Kids

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) — The Dallas County Children’s Advocacy Center is hosting a toy drive this week for kids involved in child-abuse cases.

It’s called “Holiday for Hope,” which the organization says will help around 2,200 kids in Dallas County have normalcy at a time where most families are celebrating.

“The children that benefit from these toys are children that are working with our partners here: law enforcement, child protective services,” said DCAC’s Mindy Jackson. “They come here for evidence-based therapy.”

The center plans to turn their office into a Christmas-themed area on Monday to hand the toys out to the kids. The DCAC is asking for donations to come in by Saturday so they have time to get everything ready for the big reveal.

“Some of the hot items are the Hatchimals,” Jackson said. “Then still the basic things like, bikes, Barbies, board games, action figures electronics — those sorts of things.”

Donations can be brought to their local offices or done online through Amazon.
