Washington, DC (WBAP/KLIF) – A Republican member of the Senate Intelligence Committee says Russian internet trolls are stirring up the controversy over NFL players kneeling during the national anthem.
Oklahoma Senator James Lankford says the Russians are hashtagging “take a knee” and “boycott NFL” to amplify the issue on social media, and make it seem like a more widespread controversy than it really is.
Lankford says the Russians don’t care which side they take. They’re just trying to stir up as much trouble as they can.
