Arlington Police Chief Tweets Response to President Trump’s Call for More Aggressive Law Enforcement

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) — The Chief of Police in Arlington has indirectly commented on President Trump’s message on the use of force by officers.

Chief Will Johnson retweeted a statement from the Major Cities Chiefs Association, which said they were “appalled” by the President condoning excessive force.

And while retweets aren’t necessarily endorsements, Johnson did add his own words to the retweet: “We will stand for the protection of the civil rights for all persons.”

President Trump said Friday that officers shouldn’t be too nice to people they’re arresting, adding that they shouldn’t have to protect a suspect’s head when putting them into a squad car.
