DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The City of Dallas has released the identity of the Dallas Fire Rescue firefighter-paramedic who was shot Monday while trying to give aid to a separate shooting victim.
William An has been with the department for over ten years.
He remains at Baylor University Medical Center surrounded by family, friends and some co-workers.
An remains in critical but stable condition and continues to “Undergo procedures to address his injuries,” according to a statement from the City of Dallas.
An and his wife Jayne have a three-year-old son and are currently expecting a second child.
Investigators believe a person they found dead inside an East Dallas home was the suspect. Another person was also found dead inside.
Dallas Fire Rescue is thanking the community for offering support.
