Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick Says Bathroom Bill Isn’t About Discrimination

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick

AUSTIN (WBAP/KLIF News)  While the Texas Senate prepares to vote on the bill that would require everyone to use public bathrooms that match their birth gender, state leaders are speaking out. Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick wants to keep traditional bathroom protocols. He says the matter transcends the transgender issue and is more about privacy. Patrick says right now, men can get in legal trouble for disrobing in a ladies room, but if the bathroom bill fails, women will no longer have privacy in the one place at work and school where they are entitled to it. He claims a vote against the bill means women will become powerless against men who abuse their new right to be in a ladies room.
