PLANO (WBAP/KLIF News)  A senior at Plano East High School is decidedly one of the smartest kids in the country. The 18-year-old is waiting in Washington now to find out where she placed in the Regeneron national talent search. The event is a competition that is held to find the nation’s next major scientific leader. Krithika Iyer developed a set of algorithms to be used in an e-learning app. The app will incorporate a digital “teacher” that will be able to adapt to students’ individual personalities and emotions while learning. Krithika said she hopes her project will be used to educate students in countries where access to schools is limited and here at home where there are teacher shortages. She finds out tomorrow where she placed in the competition.
