Investigators said he and a juvenile accomplice allegedly beat Derek Whitener with a wooden stick outside the City Place Tarket on Haskell Avenue on January 14th.

Whitener’s skull was fractured and he was released from the hospital after spending almost two weeks in the intensive care.

Since the attack, the local theater community rallied around Whitener and a GoFundMe campaign raised more than $100,000 to help pay for his medical care.
