DALLAS WBAP/KLIF News) – Just how big is this weekend for Dallas and the Metroplex? With the Red River Showdown game, and the State Fair in full swing, 92,000 people from out of town, and out of state, will be visiting.
“This is the biggest weekend of the year for Dallas, and we’re really excited to host all those visitors from around the region,” said Phillip Jones, President and CEO of the Dallas Convention and Visitors’ Bureau. “We know they come back year after year because they have such a great time when they visit our city.”
Those visitors will spend about $50-60 million at hotels, restaurants, bars and clubs, and shopping. Click here to go to the Convention and Visitor Bureau’s website, where you’ll find a list of events scheduled for this weekend.
In addition to the game and the Fair, there will be a number of corporate events, private parties and fundraisers for local charities. Jones said this will be a great weekend for the local economy, not just for Dallas, but the Metroplex.
