Kaufman County (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Kemp Independent School District placed Joseph Kolt Palmer on leave after administrators learned of an alleged sexual communication he had with a minor while at a previous job.
According to InForney.com, authorities started investigating Palmer in May when he was a teacher at Yale High School in Oklahoma.
The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Department arrested Palmer on Tuesday for an out-of-state warrant on a charge of engaging in sexual communication with a minor by use of technology.
Kemp ISD Superintendent Phil Edwards said the district screened Palmer before he was hired, but the Oklahoma charges never came up.
