Faulty Air Conditioning System at Dallas Elementary School Now Fixed

DISDDallas (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Dallas Independent School district said the air conditioning system at Preston Hollow Elementary School on Walnut Hill Lane has been fixed. Parents of students were angry after learning that the system had been down for seven school days despite 90-degree weather.

In a statement, a district spokesperson said “Since learning of HVAC issues at Preston Hollow Elementary School we have been working with Oncor to isolate the issue. It was determined the chiller, which helps to cool the building, began to turn off following a surge from the input being received. Dallas ISD’s Maintenance and Facility Services has been involved throughout the process and confirmed the unit is now operational.”

Although the issue has been resolved, the district said they will keep an eye on it. “As a precaution, we will keep a technician on-site should the system experience any other issues.”
