Dallas (WBAP/KLIF News) – The shooting at Love Field took travelers and those coming in to meet people by surprise. One man, trying to get home to San Diego, said he was getting to the airport early, to try to get an earlier flight.
“We pulled in on the Enterprise shuttle van, and the driver of the bus in front of us told us to stop, shots were being fired. They started to shut the gates inside the terminal, and people were kind of running in and out of the terminal.”
A couple said they were at the airport to meet their grandsons, who were flying in from Los Angeles. But as they were driving in, they heard the news that there’d been a shooting.
“I was more concerned about my grandsons that were coming in. I didn’t know what was happening with them,” said their grandmother.
Because some people ran through security when the shots were fired, all flights were stopped, even those already on the taxiway. Those people had to come back to the terminal, get off their plane, and wait for security to reopen, so they could be searched again.
