FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) – The “affluenza teen” is officially an adult.

Ethan Couch’s 19th birthday is Monday.

He will be making his first appearance in adult court on Apr. 18.

Couch killed four people in a drunken driving crash in 2013, and became the focus of a firestorm of criticism when he was put on probation.

He disappeared in late 2015 after a video surfaced on Twitter purportedly showing him playing “beer pong,” which would be a violation of his probation.

Couch and his mom, Tonya, were arrested in Mexico a few weeks later.

Fort Worth Judge Wayne Salvant may set new, adult terms for Ethan Couch’s probation on the 18th.

Couch remains behind bars at a maximum security prison in Fort Worth.
