North Texas Braces for Severe Storms

Storm Pre 033016DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Multiple rounds of severe storms are possible across the Dallas-Fort Worth area on Wednesday.

According to WBAP/KLIF’s Chief Meteorologist Brad Barton, heavy rain and large hail are the main threats.  “We’re expecting a lull in thunderstorm activity from late morning through probably late afternoon.  That means there is plenty of time for strong south winds, Gulf moister and afternoon-max heating to destabilize the atmosphere for much larger storms to move in this evening.  Any of those storms could be damaging and dangerous.”

The main event is expected to arrive between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

The national Storm Prediction Center has put parts of North Texas in an enhanced risk area.
