Southwest Airlines is Considering Expanding to DFW Airport

(WBAP/KLIF) – DALLAS, TX – Southwest Airlines CEO Bob Jordan stated that the company has plans to expand to DFW International Airport soon. The Dallas-based carrier has long been limited to Dallas Love Field, where it operates 18 out of the 20 gates located there. A decades-old federal law known as the Wright Amendment required Southwest Airlines to give up gates at Love Field to expand to DFW Airport. Since that law has expired Southwest Airlines is planing to expand to 5 to 10 gates at DFW Airport over next several years.
