Opponents Have Filed A Lawsuit Over A New Law That Requires The 10 Commandments To Be Displayed In Every Public School Classroom

(WBAP/KLIF) – DALLAS, TX – Eight parents from North Texas are suing the Texas Education Agency, Dallas ISD, and Lancaster ISD in federal court, and are asking a judge to declare Senate Bill 10 unconstitutional to keep it from taking effect. Several of the plaintiffs are also religious leaders, and argue that requiring classrooms to display a specific version of the Ten Commandments, violates their rights as parents to determine when, how, and what their kids learn about religion. Governor Abbott signed SB 10 into law last Friday.
