NEW YORK (AP) — Elon Musk has long promised to put a fleet of driverless Tesla “robotaxis” on the roads, but fans and shareholders have been kept waiting. Sunday, the billionaire may finally deliver. His Austin, Texas, electric vehicle maker has begun a test run in the city Sunday. Investors rattled by boycotts, plunging sales, and Musk’s social media spat with President Trump are looking for some good news. The bar is high. Tesla rival Waymo already operates driverless taxis in several cities and won’t give up market share easily. Musk is undeterred, vowing to eventually seize nearly the entire self-driving taxi market.
