FORT WORTH, Texas — Eight people have been arrested in connection with a smash-and-grab robbery at a Fort Worth grocery store, according to police records.

Fort Worth police responded to reports of a robbery around 4:55 p.m. on February 9 at an El Rancho Supermercado on North Main Street. Authorities said four men entered the store, smashed a glass display, and stole jewelry before fleeing the scene.

While police have not officially confirmed the arrests, jail records indicate that six men and two women were taken into custody in connection with the crime. The suspects, ranging in age from 17 to 51, face various charges.

Three of the suspects — Lester Emerson, Christian Venson, and Reginald Mitchell — were charged with robbery, while five others, including Shonton Howard, Daniya Smith, Vanessa Thompson, and two men named Dexter Mitchell, were charged with engaging in organized criminal activity.

A similar robbery occurred in December at an El Rancho Supermercado in East Dallas, where thieves reportedly stole around $600,000 worth of jewelry. Another smash-and-grab robbery took place in November at a Houston El Rancho Supermercado, where $20,000 worth of gold chains were stolen.

Police have not yet confirmed whether these incidents are connected.
