Garland, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – A jury has been seated in the capital murder trial of garland man on trial for allegedly helping his teenage son carry out a triple murder over a year ago.

33-year old Richard Acosta Jr. is accused of transporting then 14-year old son Abel Acosta to and from a Garland convenience store where three teens were gunned down. It happened the day after Christmas 2021.
Police say the father walked into a Texaco convenience store on Walnut Street that night, and back to his truck. They say his son then got out of the truck and allegedly fired into the store. The teen has not been seen since.

Opening statements in Richard Acosta’s trial begin today after a jury was seated on Monday.
