Ravinder Singh was on trail for the 2019 shooting and killing of Margarita Brooks.
Brooks was living outside and had passed out near the Seville Commons Shopping Center. Singh says when he tried to check on her a dog rushed him, and he fired his weapon. Brooks was hit two times.
Singh graduated from the police academy in February 2019 and completed field training a month before the fatal shooting. He resigned from the department three months later.
