(WBAP/KLIF) — A former Southwest Airlines flight attendant was awarded $5.3 million in a lawsuit against the airline, Thursday.

Carter was fired in 2017 after sending emails to Transport Workers Union President Audrey Stone, calling her “despicable” for attending a pro-abortion “Women’s March” in Washington D.C., earlier that year.
According to the Dallas Morning News, a North Texas jury in U.S. District court found that the Dallas-based airline and the flight attendants’ union violated Carter’s religious and speech rights to advocate against her union’s support of abortion rights.
