Texas Border Counties Call on Governor to Declare an Invasion

(Rep. Chip Roy)

(WBAP/KLIF) – A number of Texas county leaders are calling on Governor Greg Abbott to declare an invasion at the Southern border.

County Judges from Goliad County, Kinney County, Terrell County, and others attended a press conference on Tuesday asking the Governor to make the declaration amid a continued surge of illegal immigration.

“If you live on a ranch anywhere out here, you better have your things locked,” Kinney County Judge Tully Shahan told reporters on Tuesday.

He said crime has skyrocketed in recent months along extremely rural parts of the border. He’s asking Governor Abbott to “remove all persons invading the Sovereignty of Texas,” specifically pointing to language in the state and U.S. Constitutions.

U.S. Congressman Chip Roy was joined the local leaders during a briefing in Bracketville.
