Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – A jury was selected to hear the capital murder retrial of accused North Texas serial killer Billy Chemirmir.his first trial last November ended in a hung jury after 11 hours of deliberations in the case involving 81-year old Lu Harris.
She is one of over a dozen elderly women whose deaths have been linked to Chemirmir.
Over 100 potential juror showed up at the frank crowley criminal courts building on thursday. The 12 jurors and two alternates selected will begin hearing the retrial on Monday.

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Jury selection begins today in the retrial of Billy Chemirmir for the murder of 81-year old Lu Thi Harris of Dallas.
The first capital murder trial for the accused serial killer ended in a mistrial Nov. 19, after the opposition of one juror to convict.
That day, prosecutors vowed to retry him. he faces life in prison if convicted.
Chemirmir is accused in over a dozen murders targeting elderly women. His alleged M-O was to smother them and steal their jewelry.
During an interview from jail with the Dallas Morning News earlier this year, Chemirmir said, quote, “I am not a killer,’ and said that that he will be acquitted of all North Texas murders.
