FT. WORTH ( WBAP/KLIF) – The sister of a woman killed by a Ft. Worth police officer in 2019 is suing the ex-officer, the city, the former police chief and mayor.
The mother of Atatiana Jefferson’s nephew says her son, who was 8 at the time of the killing, suffered extreme and severe mental and emotional distress from witnessing his aunt’s shooting and death.
Police were called to the home by a neighbor who said the front door was open. Bodycam video shows officer Aaron Dean yelling at Jefferson to put her arms up and then shooting her through a window.
The lawsuit also alleges the boy was questioned without parental consent.
