NORTH TEXAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Police departments across North Texas including Arlington, Mansfield, Rockwall and Flower Mound are expressing condolences for an Austin police officer recently killed in a crash while on duty.
Officer Lewis Andy Traylor died Saturday after battling injuries sustained during a crash he was involved in while en route to an emergency call last Wednesday.
According to Interim Austin Police Chief Joseph Chacon the nine-year veteran of the department was a wonderful officer, husband and father who will be missed by all.
Police departments in the Metroplex took to social media to express their support for Traylor’s family and Austin PD.
We mourn with our brothers and sisters of the Austin Police Department and extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Officer Lewis “Andy” Traylor.

On Wednesday, July 28, 2021, Austin Police Officer Lewis Traylor was involved in a tragic on-duty crash. On Saturday, July 31, Officer Traylor succumbed to his injuries.
