Plano (WBAP/KLIF) – Doorbell camera video captured the moment an explosion on Monday reduced a Plano home to rubble.
The blast which sent sent six people to the hospital, was picked up from the home directly across the street on Cleveland Drive late Monday afternoon.
The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
A Plano Police dog was brought in to check for residue from an explosive device but nothing was found. The cause of the explosion is unclear and under investigation. A lightning strike was reported by a man nearby but that was not believed to be the cause since there was no fire involved.
Officials say it will take time to determine the exact cause of the blast. Gas was turned off in the immediate area Monday afternoon and representatives from Atmos Energy and Oncor were on site during the initial investigation, which is standard procedure.
