AUSTIN, TX – Before the current legislative session ends on may 31, Governor Abbott notified lawmakers via email that allocation of some $16b in Covid-19 relief funds will be handled during a special legislative session this fall.
Abbott had already planned for a special session later this year to allow legislators to do their once-every-ten-years redistricting map.
Meanwhile, if the Texas power grid winterization bill is not finalized by month’s end, it could be another agenda item for the special session.
