AUSTIN (WBAP/KLIF) – Former President Donald Trump announced his endorsement of Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick on Monday, as Patrick seeks his third term.
“Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick is a great fighter for the people of Texas,” Trump said in a statement posted to his website. “He has stood up for up for Life, Liberty, the Second Amendment, Border Security, our Military and our Vets, and our God-given Freedoms. He has governed by conservative principles of LOW TAXES and careful spending, always doing what is best for his great State and for America. Texans should re-elect him! He is outstanding and has my Complete and Total Endorsement!”
Over the last five years Patrick has served as Chairman of President Trump’s presidential campaign in Texas.
He and I have become good friends,” said Patrick. “I am honored to have his endorsement.”
Mike Collier is believed to be a potential Democratic opponent of Patrick’s.
